A couple of months ago we asked you if you had any hidden talents you would like to share with us and our audience. Just this week Bill Gilliham, Sue Homewood, Julie Downs and Phil Burrows responded and invited us to have a listen to their music group 'Aquitaine Variations'.
A quartet in close harmony, they travel with a wide repertoire of numbers
ranging from Rock ‘n Roll through to Operetta; calling at Jazz, Swing,
Musical Theatre, Movie Music and Popular Ballads on the way.
Many of their numbers are fully choreographed and they perform in three
languages. Maestro Phil plays keyboard, writes the harmonies and operates
their very own recording studio.
We are going to listen to “TRICKLE, TRICKLE” from their first CD which is in the process of being finalised.
They have been “on the road” in Poitou-Charentes since June last year and
were delighted to perform in 10 shows during that time. They have been substantially building their repertoire in preparation for the new season.
If you would like to catch one of their shows they currently have confirmed dates for:
3 September in 17150 St Thomas de Conac
4 November in 17520 Jarnac Champagne
19 November in 17240 Lorignac
3 December in 17240 St Dizant
Several more need to be confirmed.
